Keeping your Tinymight 2 clean is the single biggest factor in preserving flavour and airflow. The good news: it is designed to be cleaned without tools in about five minutes. Here is the routine straight from our manual.

What you need

  • Isopropyl alcohol (91 % or higher)
  • Hot water and a little detergent
  • Optional: spare screens and O-rings

Step by step

  1. Cool down and empty. Let the device cool. Remove the glass tube and empty the chamber of any spent herb.
  2. Soak the glass tube. Rinse the glass tube with hot water and detergent, or submerge it in isopropyl alcohol (91%+) for a few minutes, then rinse and dry.
  3. Open the cooling unit. Open the threaded ring at the front panel; the internal parts slide out easily. Unscrew the tube holder, remove the red O-ring and the metal insert.
  4. Clean the metal parts. Soak the stainless-steel parts in isopropyl alcohol, then rinse and dry. Do NOT soak the O-rings in solvent — wipe them with a damp cloth instead, as alcohol degrades them.
  5. Check the screens. Remove and inspect the mesh screens. Soak them clean, or replace them the moment they clog or deform — they are cheap consumables and restricted airflow ruins flavour.
  6. Reassemble. Slide the parts back in, refit the correct O-rings (the cooling unit uses two different sizes, ~10 mm and ~11 mm), and screw the ring back into place.

How often?

Light users can go up to two weeks; heavy users should clean weekly. The cooling unit is the bottleneck — when it gets gunky, airflow drops and flavour suffers, so give it an isopropyl soak more often than the rest.

Two O-ring sizes — don't mix them up

The cooling unit needs two different sized O-rings (around 10 mm and 11 mm). If you accidentally fit two small ones, the unit slides out too easily; two large ones and it barely goes in. Our O-ring packs include both sizes.
